PDF conversion or placement needs correction

Check PDF extraction, field types, signer blocks, answer placement and completed output before sharing a converted document.

A PDF can need review after its fields are extracted. Check the generated questions and document placement together so a signer enters the right answer and sees it in the right place on the completed page.

Confirm the source

Use the original PDF at the current Document signature upload. Check that the file opens normally, includes every required page, and contains the wording you intend to collect signatures against.

A file called “form.pdf” can still be a scan with faint writing, a completed example, or a document with multiple unrelated forms. Review its actual pages. The current web entry is labelled PDF; use the Docs path for the Google Docs add-on.

Compare questions with the document

  1. Read the extracted questions in order.
  2. Check labels, response types and required fields against the intended blanks and choices.
  3. Confirm that separate signer roles remain separate.
  4. Inspect signature and date locations, especially on later pages.
  5. Preview using a synthetic response with long and short values.

Do not accept the extraction solely because the number of fields looks plausible. A table can contain repeated blanks, one answer can span several lines, and a choice group can need a different control from a text answer.

Correct placement and output

Use the available placement controls to adjust an answer or signature that appears on the wrong line or page. See PDF fields and placement. Keep enough room for realistic values and check wrapped text near neighboring labels.

If an answer is present in the form but missing from the document, check its placement and the intended output mode. If a signature is absent, check the correct signer block and whether that signer has actually completed the task. A required future workflow signature is not a conversion error.

Check a complete example

Preview the corrected form, complete a test request and open the generated PDF. Compare answers, choices, dates, signatures and page boundaries. Download the output you expect to retain rather than judging only the editor preview.

If a document remains difficult to extract, consider preparing a clearer source with distinct labels and blanks. Preserve approved agreement wording when making layout changes. If support is needed, describe the page and field affected and provide a synthetic or redacted example you are authorized to share. For a correct form with missing output, use record troubleshooting.
