Sheet signature quickstart

Select a spreadsheet tab and prepare its signature request.

Start a signature request from the contents of a Google Sheet tab. Use this path when the spreadsheet is the document people need to review, such as a purchase request or quotation.

Before you begin

Open the source Sheet in an account that can authorize its use. Review the tab containing the request and remove unrelated personal or business information from the signing document. Keep another copy if you are experimenting with a new setup.

This source-document path is separate from sending form responses to a spreadsheet. For response output, use Google Forms and response Sheets.

Prepare the signing request

Connect the source

From Sheet signature, choose Try it free. Paste the Google Sheets link or use Browse, then choose Add signature. Complete the account and access prompts for that source.

Choose the tab

When the Sheet has multiple tabs, Which tab do you want signed? lets you select the relevant tab and choose Next. A single available tab can continue without this selection.

Configure signers

Review To be signed by. Enter clear signer roles, check the order and then choose how to request signatures. The shared widget offers Link and Email.

Review and share

Open the resulting signing experience. Check the tab content, signer details and completed-record settings before distributing the request.

Choose the source tab that should become the signing document.

Check the output

The setup reads the selected tab into a signing document and uses the shared Formesign signer workflow. It does not establish one automatic request per spreadsheet row. Do not assume that future cell edits or a signature will automatically update the source in the way your business expects; inspect the prepared request after source changes.

Complete a sample with synthetic information and inspect the response and final PDF. Confirm Drive filing and emailed copies if you need them.

If the Sheet cannot be read, check the signed-in account and use the source picker when prompted to authorize access. See Google source troubleshooting for access errors and Sheet preparation for the source-document boundary.
