Quick Answer
How do I export Formesign responses?
Open RESPONSES, then Google Sheets. It's a table of every response, with its date, status, signed document, and answers. Click Link to Sheets to send responses to a real Google Sheet, or use the three-dot menu for other options. New report builds your own view.
Reports let you compare requests without opening each document.
Built-in reports
| Report | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Google Sheets | Every response in a table |
| Responses by status | Counts per status |
| Responses by email | Responses per person |
| Traffic source | Where responses came from |
| New report | Your own view |
The Google Sheets tab is inside Formesign
It's a spreadsheet-style view, not a Google Sheet. To get an actual spreadsheet, use Link to Sheets.
The Google Sheets report
The table has Response Id, Date, Status, Week, Month, and Signed document, followed by your form's fields. Click the Signed Document.pdf link to open that response's document.
The toolbar has the week picker, view toggles, search, a pencil to edit the report, and a three-dot menu. Each column heading has a filter.
Send responses to Google Sheets
There are two separate routes to a spreadsheet, so check which one you're using before looking for a missing row.
| Route | How | Choose it when |
|---|---|---|
| Link to Sheets | Click it on the report and allow access | You want the report's columns, including the signed document link |
| Through Google Forms | Turn on Submit to Google Forms, then link a Sheet from the Google Form's own Responses tab | You already use Google Forms' spreadsheet |
Either way, submit a practice response and find it in the Sheet.
Sensitive fields
Fields marked as Protected Health Information are left out of Link to Sheets unless you choose to include them. A Sheet linked through Google Forms is a separate route, so check that one yourself. Either way, check who can open the spreadsheet.
An exported file is a copy at that moment. A linked Sheet keeps receiving new responses. Neither replaces the signed PDF.
Useful views
- Pending approvals: filter Status to a signer's column.
- This week's requests: use the week picker.
- A person's history: use Responses by email.
Include only the columns you need. A report of names and statuses is much easier to share safely than one with every answer in it.
