Quick Answer

How do I edit my Formesign form?

Open the form's EDIT tab. Click any question to change it, and use the toolbar on the right to add fields, titles, images, videos, and sections. The ring beside the form's name opens a Form setup checklist covering signatures, respondent fields, emails, Google Drive, and scheduling.

The EDIT tab is where your form takes shape. Changes save as you go.

The editor: 1 workspace tabs, 2 the setup checklist, 3 pages, 4 form settings, and 5 tools for adding fields.

Add and change questions

Click a question to edit it in place: its title, its answer type, and whether it's required. The gear on a question opens more settings, including its description, and Mark this as Protected Health Information.

The toolbar on the right adds things after the selected question:

Sections and pages

The label at the top of the form shows the current page, such as Page 1 of 2. Use pages to break a long form into steps. The After page card at the end of each page chooses what comes next: Continue to next page, or, on the last page, Submit.

Signers always need their own place on the form. See Signers & Signing Order.

Rearrange fields

The icons on the title card let you preview, add an image, rearrange, and open form settings. Rearrange fields lists every section and field. Drag the handles to move them.

Drag a field's handle to move it. Collapse a section with the minus sign.

Form setup checklist

The ring beside the form's name opens Form setup, which shows what's finished and what's left. It's a good last check before you share.

Form setup: 1 who the respondent is, 2 signed copies by email, 3 Google Drive, and 4 scheduling.

Respondent fields

Click the pencil on Review which fields identify the respondent. These choices decide what name and email Formesign records for each response, and they appear on response cards.

1 Point each one at the right question, and 2 optionally ask people to log in.

Check these on generated forms

Generated forms can choose the wrong field, such as the approver's email rather than the employee's. Check them before you share.

What happens after submit

The After page card on the last page sets the submit button and the message. See Terms & Consent Screen.

Edit a form that's already collecting

Changes reach new responses right away. Before changing a required field, a signature, or approved wording, test with a practice response. Documents already signed don't change.
