Quick Answer

How do I add a signature to Google Forms?

Go to formesign.com/signature-in-google-forms, paste your form's link or click Browse to pick it from Drive, then click Add signature. Formesign makes a copy of your form with a signature field. Share the Formesign link with signers, because Google's own form page can't capture a drawn signature.

Google Forms has no signature question. Formesign adds one, but it only works on Formesign's version of your form, so the link you share changes.

Import your form

Open the import screen

Open formesign.com/signature-in-google-forms, or choose Import your Google Forms from the chooser.

Paste the link or browse

Paste the link to your Google Form, or click Browse to pick it from Google Drive. Allow access if Google asks.

1 Paste a link or 2 browse Drive, then 3 Add signature. 4 Edit my existing form skips the copy.

Add the signature

Click Add signature. The button shows Copying your questions… and a percentage, and takes about 30 seconds. You'll then see Your signing link is ready, with Share form, Edit form, and Add another signature.

Set up the signature and test it

Click Edit form to check the signature field and the signers, then click Preview signing experience to try it.

Copy, or edit your existing form

By default, Formesign works on a copy. To change your original instead, click Edit my existing form below the button. Paste the form's edit link, and click Add signature.

1 No copy is made. 2 Paste the edit link. 3 Changed your mind? Make a copy instead.

Who owns a copy

A copied Google Form appears in Google Drive with editor@formfacade.com as its owner, because that's the account Formesign works through.

Test the link before you rely on it

Open the link from the SHARE tab, and check that you can draw a signature. If you edited an existing form, also open the link you've already shared.

Add several signers at once

If several people need to sign in order, start from Signature workflow instead. It works the same way, but the button is Add workflow and it takes you straight to the signer list.

Signature workflow: the same import, with 1 Add workflow instead of Add signature.

You can also add signers later to any imported form.

Use the Google Forms add-on

Prefer to start inside Google Forms? Install Formesign from the Google Workspace Marketplace, open your form, and start it from Google Forms' add-ons menu. Your organization's administrator may need to allow the add-on first.
