Quick Answer

How do I change how my form looks?

Open the PREVIEW tab. Your form appears on the left, with THEME, LAYOUT, and PAGE settings on the right. Choose Minimal or Colorful, pick a theme option or your own colors and fonts, and click Apply. The toggle above the form switches between desktop and phone.

The PREVIEW tab shows your form as signers will see it, next to the settings that change it.

1 Switch device, 2 choose what to change, 3 pick a theme, 4 pick colors, then 5 Apply.

Theme

Choose Minimal or Colorful

Minimal is plain and clean. Colorful adds a banner. For official documents, Minimal usually reads better.

Pick the colors

Under Theme options, choose Custom, Default, Blossom pink, Celadon green, Sky blue, Forest green, or Persian indigo. Use Primary color and Background to match your brand.

Set the rest

Upload a Background Image, or choose Make form background transparent. Under Typography settings, choose fonts for Headings and Paragraph.

Apply

Click Apply. The preview updates, and signers see the change the next time they open the link.

Layout and page

The other two tabs change the structure rather than the colors:

TabWhat it changes
LAYOUTHow questions are arranged on the page
PAGEPage elements, including your logo and business name

Theme settings don't change a kept-as-is PDF

If you kept your PDF's layout, signers see your page, and the signed PDF follows your document, not the theme.

Check it before sharing

  • Use the phone toggle. Many signers open links on their phones.
  • Make sure text is readable against the background.
  • Click Open in new tab to see the form in a full window.
  • Complete it as a signer. Preview shows the design, but only the signing link shows exactly what a signer will be asked for, including Google Sign-in.
